In the MCU, Sharon used to work for SHIED before it was disbanded. It seems that by introducing Walker as US Agent, the show is seemingly hinting towards a new foe in the possible next season.įinally, in the mid-credits scene, Sharon Carter is pardoned and once again imbibed into SHIELD, but it seems she has other plans and converses with someone over the phone that while she may not have super-soldiers anymore, she now has access to top US secrets. Walker appears in the US Agent suit presumably given to him by Valentine and whoever she is working with.įor the unversed, US Agent first appeared in Captain America series in 1986 as Super-Patriot and was an antithesis of what Captain America embodied. There is a separate scene where Valentine Allegra de Fontaine is seen sitting with Walker’s wife Olivia Walker. On the other hand, the rest of the Flag-Smashers, who were being taken to the prison, are killed by a man working for Baron Zemo. Sam, who by now is officially the new Captain America, convinces the GRC to suspend the decision to redraw borders. Sam is shown flying towards the GRC members with Karli's body and a long dialogue follows where he questions if the Flag Smashers can be called terrorists and whether their goals were noble. Sam arrives at the scene and before Karli can shoot him, Sharon kills her. And even though Karli escapes, a series of events shows Sharon Carter as Power Broker who confronts Karli. In a surprising turn of events John allies himself with Sam and Bucky to take on the Flag Smashers (we did not see that coming!). On the ground, Bucky chases the hijacked vehicles, while Sam takes care of the chopper.Īt this point, John Walker, still in Cap uniform attacks Karli, who says she just wants to kill the GRC people and confesses that Lemar’s death was an accident. But whether we’ll get a chance to see the duo have any further adventures together on Disney+ is anyone’s guess at the time of writing.A post shared by Falcon and the Winter Soldier out the Flag-Smashers’ plan is to force GRC to escape the building by using smoke grenades and then kill them in vehicles and a chopper. In the end, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier became Captain America and the Winter Soldier. The US government has accidentally acquired a very connected mole out to steal new weapons and tech in Agent Carter, and this story will surely play a part in Marvel’s upcoming Armor Wars and Ironheart series. Much like WandaVision, there were no big Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos during the finale – Chris Evans making an appearance as Old Cap just wasn’t in the cards – and a post-credits scene simply cemented Sharon Carter’s future as the elusive Power Broker. Julia Louis-Dreysfus’ Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine was there to make sure Walker’s new suit fit just right, but we didn’t get any further information about what the Contessa is planning, only a promise that things are about to get “weird”. The matter of John Walker’s future was left deliberately muddy, but the ex-marine made some progress in fighting the emotional effects of the super soldier serum, eventually becoming his current Marvel Comics counterpart, US Agent, in a rushed scene towards the end of the episode. Will we see Isaiah’s nephew Eli become Young Avengers member Patriot in the MCU at a later date? Possibly! In an incredibly emotional scene, Sam made sure that Isaiah Bradley’s sacrifices would be public knowledge and never again forgotten. The gang’s leader Karli also lost her life to the cause, which she’d seemed dead set on throughout the episode, even when Sam was refusing to play the game. Not even a belated pardon from the US government was about to get her back on side, it turned out.īaron Zemo of course had one final chess move to play from the relative comfort of his cell on The Raft, neutralising the rest of the Flag-Smasher super soldiers in a bomb blast carried out by his devoted butler. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) took up the Captain America mantle and tried to resolve the Flag-Smashers situation once and for all, but ended up giving a passionate speech about the nature of terrorism and the grey areas that many politicians would rather pretend didn’t exist instead.īucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) continued to make amends for his actions as the deadly Winter Soldier and found some peace in his resolve, while Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) was revealed as the decidedly deceptive Power Broker, surprising precisely no one. There weren’t too many surprises in the finale, but the show delivered pretty much everything it promised. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finally finished its run on Disney+ this week, and no one must have been happier about it than the cast and crew of the ambitious Marvel series, who had to fight tooth and nail to get it wrapped up during a global pandemic. This article contains spoilers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finale.
